Goldfish

Well just like people fish are all different. And so some live a lot longer than others. A few weeks or months (some of the small reef fishes) to 50 years or more (sturgeons). Longevity information is still sparse, but scientists have learned that species live 10 to 20 years in temperate waters. There are a few that are around in captivity that are reported to live as long as 90 years and more! Just like with us, a lot depends on the fishes lifestyle. Diet, exercise, genetics and location play a big part in how long a fish lives. For instance, a lot of people think that goldfish don’t live that long, but that is only because most people don’t take care of goldfish properly as they need a lot of care. But if you take care of them the way they need and they are not fish that have been overly inbred(feeder or most carnival fish) they can live up to 20 or 30 years! Amazing news .
