E-fishingnews – Albino fish : Every now and again there are mutations to genes. Some of these are beneficial while other changes such as albinism do not help the fish. In a natural habitat an albino’s life would be undesirable for several reasons. Firstly a white body makes for poor camouflage. Wild mutations will often be eaten before they get a chance to reproduce. Should they make it to adulthood the action of the sun can damage their albino skin and eyes leading to discomfort or premature death.
